Subject: Red Rabbit Racing Newsletter - Marion's Man Runs Great!

All,

As tipped earlier, Red Rabbit Racing’s star and sole horse Marion’s Man competed Oct 7, 2005 at Hawthorne Race Course in a $25,000 claiming race for 3yr olds & up at a distance of 1 1/8 miles over the main dirt course.

Ridden this day by famed jockey Chris Emigh, MM broke well and stayed just off the lead until he started his rush with a half mile left in the race.   He pulled into the lead and led well into the stretch until he tired a bit and was nipped at the wire –finishing a strong (and profitable) second.   Compared to his last race where he finished dead last – his effort in this race was remarkable.

Alas, our celebration was short lived as our trainer was notified at the conclusion of the race that a claim slip had been entered for our horse and he was purchased by another party. Sp we all had to say our goodbyes to Marion’s Man as he was led from the finish line to another barn where he will toil anew for a different owner.  We all knew that someone claiming MM was a possibility- but given his earlier last place finish thought a claim was remote – but that’s Racing!

So we now start the process of looking for a new horse to claim and will keep you posted with the progress!  Take a look at all the results on the day by visiting the website at the following link:
