On a bright sunny day, it was off to El Paso, IL for the SURPRISE party of the year as it was
Aunt Peggy's 80th Birthday Bash!
Aunty Peg is the daughter of Aunt Harriet and Russell Johnson - the Red Rabbit himself! Since she was a wee filly she loved all things horses and has shared that equine love with her daughter, her Nieces, friends and Red Rabbit Racing Partners.
Aunty Peg's daughter Jodi, along with her husband Alan and their kids, and anchored by The Country Lawyer himself, threw a Suprise Birthday Party in the heart of their hometown of El Paso, IL.
It was attended by what looked to be all of El Paso, but with a mammoth contingent of Johnson's that flew in from as far as Florida & Washington State to party with Aunty Peg.

Kathy & I had flown back from Siesta Key on the Thursday prior. Sisters Laurie, Jean, & Nancy had flown back on the prior Friday.
Diane Wallis, trophy wife of Dick Walleye, happened to be in town from Spokane and was there. And all the local Johnson's drove downstate to love up our Aunty Peg.
Aunty Peg truly looked truly surprised as she was escourted into the Halle by her Husband Uncle Bob - an Abe Lincoln LookieLike - our beloved Country Lawyer known as the finest Legal Mind in all the Midwest.
Uncle Roy led us in a loud, lusty version of "Happy Birthday" that all could hear without their hearing aids.
All the El Paso folk gathered to hug our Peg as she made it through the throng of 40 some people. The gift table overflowed with trinkets & keepsakes for the octogenarian. One friend had prepared a speech and short video show honouring Aunty Peg that everone loved.
Sandwiches and veggies and snicksnacks abounded at the food table and all the food was dispatched with alacrity as soon as the Johnson family spyed free Vittles.
